Ukraine strikes deep inside Russia with long-range missiles
Ukraine has launched a rare and significant long-range missile attack deep inside Russian territory, using its new FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles to strike a drone and missile manufacturing plant in Cheboksary, over 900km from the front line. Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted Russian energy and maritime infrastructure, including an oil refinery in Samara, a port in occupied Mariupol, and a "shadow fleet" oil tanker in the Black Sea. While massive mutual drone strikes continue to inflict casualties on both sides, Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent requests for direct peace negotiations, claiming his troops are advancing despite a largely frozen front line.
